Adventures in NY and Halloween

Thanks to Jetblue miles, friends who live in the city, and me being pushy – we took a weekend trip to New York City!

Some of the highlights of the trip included seeing Aladdin on Broadway, Going to the top of the Rockefeller building, Trinity Church, the Natural History museum, Time’s Square – (the M&M store was great), all the great food, and of course getting to visit with some of our close friends and have our kids play together. Prepare yourself for a picture extravaganza:

This photo is brought to you by the selfie stick. No regrets.

The people watching was great in NYC. We got preached to on the Subway about the dangers of Halloween (in Spanish), Dave ran into someone he knew from college that he didn’t plan to see, we had real New York pizza (GF!!) and the best GF pizza crust we had in NYC was at Uno’s Chicago Pizzeria (haha).

Ezra did well being carried on Dave’s back most of the trip. We walked and walked and walked. Really though, part of the reason Ezra did well was probably food bribery. I think he ate an entire 2 bags of Welch’s fruit snacks (the big bags) in one outing.

We flew back Halloween night. We usually do a family Halloween costume, but I scrapped that idea once we started planning this New York trip. Sabrina wanted to be a cowgirl, so I made her some chaps out of fleece and she got a cowgirl hat. One of my friends was getting rid of costumes she has had, and asked if I wanted a Turkey costume, so that is how he ended up being a turkey. It’s a fitting costume, because he is a turkey
