Christmas Letter

To all our family and friends, real and imaginary:

2011 has been quite the year for us. You could say that Viddy and I became official grown-ups. Although we are still waiting for the official letter from the government.

Viddy continues to show that life grades on a curve (take your own meaning from that).  He’s working for an amazing company that indulges his inner-nerd while working with a team that he really enjoys. Home ownership has allowed Viddy to exercise his inner-handy man, sometimes much to his wife’s surprise.   Growing grass seems to be a challenge worthy of someone that has a middle name that indicates an occupation in the field of horticulture. Other worthy pursuits include messing with the cat, teasing Fannie, and tossing Lulu in the air.  Viddy’s favorite toy is his iPhone.

Fannie is STILL working toward becoming a Nurse Practitioner. Projected graduation is December 2012 and heaven help us all if it gets pushed back even further. She did not work this year. Unless you count having a baby and feeding the baby and keeping the baby safe and happy. She took the summer off to enjoy/get used to the new addition and then went right back to school in the fall to do her pediatric rotation. After being sneezed, coughed, vomitted, and drooled on for 4 months by other people’s children – she decided she might be interested in pediatrics. Maybe. The fall semester probably wasn’t the best she’s ever done academically, but who cares about grades anyway? Fannie’s favorite toy is her Kindle.

Lulu has had quite the year. Being born is a major accomplishment. And then all the learning, growing, and weight gain. She has outpaced everyone in the R household and has received the “Done the Most” Award. After having mastered eating, pooping, and sleeping 12 hours every night, she is branching out by working on mobility. She is becoming an accomplished roller. Other activities include hair pulling, screaming, babbling, and charming the socks off of everyone.  Her new favorite pastime is dropping everything she’s doing and staring at the television every time the intro to Star Trek:Deep Space Nine comes on (is there a nerd gene?). Lulu’s favorite toy is anything she can reach.

Teddy has won the “Done the Least but we love him anyway”  award. He sleeps 15-20 hours a day. Eats when we feed him. Runs around. Chases us. Plays fetch, tag, and eats random stuff on the floor. He’s doing a good impression of a puppy. His favorite toys are the little, cheap, stuffed mice.

We hope you have a Happy New Year!

Viddy, Fannie, Lulu and Teddy
