Although I do appreciate the value of goal setting and the beginning of the year reflection, I sometimes feel like there is this pressure to goal set to perfection on January 1st and by January 15th everyone is back to their good ol’ selves. This is my perfect vs. real resolution list.

Viddy and I are actually going to do more meal planning and healthy eating. We have been doing really good about eating vegetarian every other night – it has become a game almost, trying to think of or search for veggie dinners. And I have gotten to enjoy veggies even more and experiment with new dishes, like sautéed bok choy with mustard over quinoa (surprisingly delicious).

We are also working on being more active, also known as getting our lazy behinds moving in some form.

Christmas Letter

To all our family and friends, real and imaginary:

2011 has been quite the year for us. You could say that Viddy and I became official grown-ups. Although we are still waiting for the official letter from the government.

Viddy continues to show that life grades on a curve (take your own meaning from that).  He’s working for an amazing company that indulges his inner-nerd while working with a team that he really enjoys. Home ownership has allowed Viddy to exercise his inner-handy man, sometimes much to his wife’s surprise.   Growing grass seems to be a challenge worthy of someone that has a middle name that indicates an occupation in the field of horticulture. Other worthy pursuits include messing with the cat, teasing Fannie, and tossing Lulu in the air...

I’ve been kind of neglecting the blog lately.

Something about midterms. And papers. And more midterms. And more papers.

And a sick baby.

Sick babies are so sad. And I see lots at the clinic. But my own sick baby is particularly sad. Baby colds are worse than man-colds. And Viddy will be the first to admit that man-colds are REALLY bad. (What is it about a man-cold that makes it seem, to the man, that the entire world is collapsing into a pit of darkness, dispair, and awfulness?)


Life here in the R household has been full of colds and schoolwork.

And my bloggy motivation has been lacking.

I will get a halloween post up. Lulu was adorable in her dinosaur costume. And I *may* just have to put her back into her costume to get a good picture showcasing the amazing costume. Oh well 🙂
