The Wise Man Built His House on the Cement Slab

So, a lot has gone on in the last few weeks.

Our house went from this…

to this…

So, once upon a time Steph and I moved down here and moved into luxury housing.  And by luxury housing I mean, we’re staying in a spare bedroom with our friends Adam and Jaci.  Funny thing about that, when Adam and I were on our mission and serving in the same area, I told Adam one day that my wife and I would live in his basement.  Obviously, I’ve achieved much more than expected having made it to a second floor bedroom with my lovely wife.

Seriously, though, we’re very lucky to have friends that are willing to let us stay with them while our house is built.  After lots of house hunting and consideration, we decided to build a house in the same development.  In a lot of ways, this house has everything we could want.  The builders have been great and have been given us a lot of flexibility.  On top of that, there have been several nights where we look out and there are still workers working by work lights or even flash lights.  It’s pretty cool.

In a lot of ways it’s hard to imagine that Steph and I find ourselves preparing for a time where we’ll live in a four bedroom house that we own.  I’ve been trying to decide what I’ll do first.  Maybe I’ll do my best reenactment of Tom Cruise in Risky Business sliding across our shiny new wooden floor.  However, I don’t pull off the tighty whities quite as well as Tom.  Maybe, I’ll pick my wife up and carry her across the threshold.  However, she’s not a fan of being picked up.  At least, she doesn’t appreciate it when I use my pickup lines.

What’s the first thing we should do?

Awesome place, things are getting exciting. The first thing you should do is furniture shopping to fill those empty spaces 🙂
